ASI Alumni Reunion 2005
The annual Alumni Homecoming in 2005 was on August 13 -14. On Saturday morning a free complimentary breakfast was given by the Union Mills Learning Center, Inc. to thank alumni for their support through memberships, financial support, and labor in helping the Union Mills Learning Center maintain the school buildings of their early years of education. Registration was all day Saturday in the hallway of the first floor at the school. Mrs. Elizabeth Sears Mitchell sold a book that she had written about her life and years at ASI. The Saturday evening meal was prepared by Terri Crane, followed by a social time in the cafeteria. Snacks were provided by Ron Wright's sister-in-law, Linda. Sunday's events started with Sunday school at 10 AM followed by worship service at 11 AM. The speaker was Scott Withrow of Landrum SC. Scott was a case worker with Alexander Schools. After the service, lunch was provided at the old cafeteria catered by Barbara Hawkins. This was followed by the business meeting and roll call. During this time, a Tribute to Victor Workman, Sr. was presented to his son, Victor Workman, Jr.
